RSU23 2009 MEA Score Summary for Reading and Math, Grades 3-8


Reading MEA Scores


Saco Schools

Saco Middle School exceeded the state average by 1 to 2 points in Reading in Grades 6, 7, and 8.  Grades 7 and 8 also showed an increase in score from the previous year.


C.K. Burns School exceeded the state average score by one point in Reading in Grades 3 and 4.  The Grade 5 reading score was 1 point below the state average.


Dayton

Dayton Consolidated School exceeded the state average in Reading by 6 points in Grade 4.  Grades 3 and 5 were 1 point below the state average.  Grades 4 and 5 showed an increase in score from the previous year.


Old Orchard Beach Schools

Jameson School matched the state average in Reading in Grade 3.


Loranger Middle School exceeded the state average in Reading by one point in Grades 4 and 6, and matched the state average in Grade 5.  The Grade 8 score was 1 point below the state average and the Grade 7 score was 2 points below.  The Grades 4 and 5 scores were an increase from the previous year.



Mathematics MEA Scores


Saco Schools

Saco Middle School exceeded the state average in 8th Grade Math, and showed an increase in score from the previous year.  7th Grade was 2 points below the state average, but showed an increase from the previous year.  In 6th Grade Math, SMS was one point below the state average.


C.K. Burns School matched the state average in Math in 3rd Grade, and was below the state average by 3 points in Grades 4 and 5.  The 3rd Grade score was an improvement over the previous year.


Dayton

Dayton Consolidated School exceeded the state average in Math by 6 points in Grade 3 and 4 points in Grade 4.  The Grade 5 score was 2 points below the state average.


Old Orchard Beach Schools

Jameson School matched the state average in Math in Grade 3.


Loranger Middle School matched the state average in Math in Grade 6.  The other grades were below the state average – Grade 4 by 3 points, Grade 5 by 2 points, Grade 7 by 7 points and Grade 8 by 1 point.
