Arcademic Skill Builder

Games (math and others) are organized by skill, and allow students to play against friends.  Arcademic Plus allows teachers to customize content and see progress reports, and is free (for now).

Sheppard Software

Lots of great games organized by skill, but it does have ads (unless you get a subscription).

SumDog

Allows you to set up a fun math competition for your class to work on at school and home! It is customizable for specific skills, allows teachers to track student’s effort, and it’s FREE.  Ask Barb to help you set up an account and a class competition!

Calculation Nation

Site from the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics that allows students to play games against an opponent. Best for upper elementary and middle grades.  Calculation Nation is part of the Illuminations site listed below for teachers - check that out too!

CoolMath4Kids

Fun site with lots of options for students.

Novel Games

Lots of strategy, puzzle, and logic games for single and multiplayer

Gamequarium

Lots of math games, though you have to wade through a lot of ads and screen clutter.

Useful Sites for Teachers

Pearson SuccessNet

All K-8 RSU23 teachers can get access to electronic copies of Investigations and CMP II materials - helpful if you have an LCD projector.  Ask Barb to help you set up an account!

Illuminations

Extensive math site from the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics - lots of activities, resources for teachers, and suggested websites

National Library of Virtual Manipulatives

This is a great site for SmartBoards and LCD’s - demonstrates math concepts across the grade spans!

Khan Academy

Sal Khan wants to provide a virtual education to the world for free, so he has recorded hundreds of math “chalk talks” on a vast range of skills.   The short video clips might be a helpful way highlight a particular math concept for your class.  Or you can teach yourself some calculus!  It’s all there....
